A Complete Facilitator combines systematic methodology with Adaptability to achieve real outcomes.

This will happen during the Course

First you learn the principles of facilitation. You will be given the tools and techniques. But from day one, you will be put into scenarios where you facilitate a group. I will push you into situations, outside your comfort zone, in a high-pressure but safe environment to practice.

All week there will be scenarios you will facilitate but troublemakers will try to throw you off. Experience and reflect on how you respond. Get feedback on how you handled the situation. You're building systematic capability throughout the week.

By the end, you will have the confidence to deal with any such situation. The development in one week is remarkable.

When reality hits and things go haywire

Ai Design Sprint Cards

I was hired to lead a problem-solving workshop with a development team trying to tackle AI. Standard preparation: clear agenda, structured exercises, defined outcomes. Everything was planned systematically.

And then this: First off, one participant was driven to the wrong location. I was told we were all on the same page, but then discovered everyone had vastly different perspective. The reality was: The team wanted other things from what the PO wanted, and tech wanted a presentation not a workshop.

Adapt rather than fix

In a traditional workshop way, I would have pressed on with the agenda and workshop exercises. After all, I had a tried and tested method at hand.

But as a Complete Facilitator my approach was different. We cut the music, we gave people a way to vent first and then focussed on just one task at hand instead of the planned roadmap.

Result

Assessing the situation, then making an informed decision based on what the group actually needs, adapt the approach professionally and pivot on the spot delivered what the group needed.
